Our Roots

Formerly the Sex Work Association of Jamaica (SWAJ/JSWC), the Jamaica Vulnerable People Alliance was established in 2008 to address critical gaps in the national response to HIV, human rights, and justice for sex workers.

Today, JVPA operates as a comprehensive human rights and health alliance, running programs across Kingston, Ocho Rios, and Montego Bay — reaching those most in need across Jamaica.

We are community-led, community-driven, and committed to ensuring that no one is left behind.

To champion and protect the human and labor rights of sex workers across Jamaica. We foster an inclusive environment that empowers individuals—regardless of race, gender, or identity—to live with dignity, autonomy, and full legal protection.

Our Vision

A Jamaica where all people — regardless of occupation or background — live with dignity, have access to health services, and are protected by their human rights.
